Great for fireworks stands / local businesses / event advertising / whatever you like!
Recently I’ve had inquiries about advertising on FireworksInPennsylvania.com, and I’ve finally got the tools to put it in place. I’ve thought long and hard about the best way to do this that’s also the easiest for the advertiser (and for me to administer) I’m also aware of the spiky nature of my traffic – I get mad crazy page views from about May 15 through July 15, and then it settles down to a more natural level (with a few smaller spikes on holidays) for the rest of the year.
I probably don’t have to tell you that, compared to newspaper, phone book or billboard traffic, advertising on the web can be a heck of a bargain. If you have a message you want to get to an Ohio audience – even down to a particular county in Pennsylvania – this is a pretty good deal.
So this is what I’ve come up with.
Peak Season – May 15 – July 15.
$99/month gets you one 300 x 250 pixel (see illustration) ad on the right hand sidebar (where you see ads now) in the county of your choice. Only three advertisers per county. Buying ad space in a county means your ad will display in even rotation with up to two other advertisers, for every fireworks display page in that county. Your ad will also go into even rotation on the home page, the by-date, by-county and by-city category pages. By even rotation, I mean that every ad gets an equal number of impressions . I realize that the more populated counties may have more ad competition, but they also have a lot more page views, so it should work out to your advantage. Ads are sold on a first come, first served basis.
$49/month gets you the same coverage in additional counties. Example: your primary county is Erie County, and your additional county is Allegheny County. So your advertising rate would be $148 for the two counties. You can purchase as many additional counties as you like.
I serve a substantial amount of mobile traffic as well, and your advertising buy will include a text ad link on the mobile page.
Off Peak Season – July 16 – May 14
I do still get steady traffic during the rest of the year, as people have fireworks displays for all kinds of celebrations, including centennials and sesquicentennials, festivals, New Year’s Eve and whatnot. If you’re interested in advertising during this time, my rate drops to $29/month for the first county, and $9/month for additional counties.

If you have something else in mind, please feel free to contact me. I will say up front, I’m not particularly interested in pay-per-click or pay-per-lead advertising; I don’t have the time to optimize for it. So I’m only doing display.
A Few Details
This is a family friendly site, so I will have to insist on family friendly ads and landing pages. I reserve the right to decline your ads if I think they might cause me a problem legally, if you change your landing page to something other than what was agreed upon, or are otherwise likely to reflect poorly on my site(s).
My site(s) are for entertainment purposes only, and I have no wish for them become involved in any political discourse; I will accept political advertising for candidates, but prefer not to take it for issue-oriented ads. I’d prefer not to have negative ads running for any party. There are plenty of other places for that.
Any links on ads will have rel=”nofollow” added to them – neither you nor I need Google “paid link” trouble.
Minimum term sold is 30 days. Billing dates will be on the 15th a month, but I can work with you if you need to start up or end at a different point.
Payment is due up front for the month, via PayPal. I will ask you to fill out the sign-up form, submit your URL (and your ad if you have it done already) and I will send you an invoice from PayPal, which you can pay with your PayPal account if you have one, or with a credit card if you don’t. If you are signing up for more than a month, then I will send you a subscription invoice, where you will be billed monthly; you won’t be paying more than a month in advance (unless for some reason you want to).
After you fill the form, I will email you the total charge, and once you sign off on it, I’ll send you an invoice from PayPal. Once it’s paid, your ads will run.
